Corvette Racing took its 100th ever win at Lime Rock Park last weekend, a historic milestone for the General Motors factory team. The turn of events was of course a big deal to all close to the Corvette Racing program, but for team manager Doug Fehan, who’s been with the team since its inception, it was especially amazing day.
This week, Fehan called into Sportscar365.com’s Double Stint podcast to discuss Corvette Racing’s 100th win, among other topics. Fehan essentially is Corvette Racing, so if you’re a fan of the eight-time Le Mans-winning American race team, you’ll want to tune into their talk show and hear what he has to say.
In the podcast, Fehan explains how when Corvette Racing first got off the ground, he envisioned it being a long-term program. However his main focus was to run a successful team for 3 years, hopefully get renewed for another 3 and keep playing the field that way. He also says that not many people at Corvette Racing realized how many wins the team had until they close to 100, so getting that many wasn’t something they had laid out beforehand.
Check out the podcast at this link and have a listen to what Fehan hast to say about the past, present and future of Corvette Racing.
