This time, you may want to call request a Lyft, because you could end up going for a ride in the iconic Ecto-1.
In select cities this weekend, you may end up going for a ride in the Ghostbusters’ vehicle of choice. According to Autoblog, Lyft is employing a 1982 Cadillac DeVille hearse, identical to the vehicle to be seen in the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot, to promote the film.
By selecting “Ghost Mode” when ordering a vehicle, an Ecto-1 should appear to take you to your desired location. Each Ecto-1 is also stocked with Hi-C Ecto Coolers and Twinkies.
Riders in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, and Washington can order a free ride in the Ecto-1 on Friday, July 1 or Saturday, July 2, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Ghostbusters hits theaters nationwide on July 15.

Earth to Maven – maybe this woulda maked sense? Or Elvis’s pink Cadillac?
The bumblebee Camaro? Only available through Maven?
Regular rides, and one-of-kind GM rides? I know – crazy talk.
Or the Impala from American Graffiti, or Thelma & Louise’s Caddy, or JFK’s cool Caddy, Steve McQueen’s ’66 corvette, Obama’s Beast limo – the Maven luxury collection.
That’s something Uber or Lyft could never do. But I know – crazy talk, reminding people that GM is something special.
