General Motors has announced that Louis Maritz has been appointed to the position of General Manager of Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing (VSSM) in Israel. The appointment is effective July 1st.
The 47-year-old Industrial Engineer has been with GM for 21 years and has worked in manufacturing, supplier quality and after sales service related positions. He holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University and is currently a senior manager at GM South Africa responsible for after sales service in the Sub-Saharan Africa markets, as well as the Israeli market that is part of the GM Sub-Saharan Africa region.
Maritz will be based at the GM regional offices in Herzliya, Israel. He will report directly to Ian Nicholls, president and managing director of GM’s Sub-Saharan Africa and Israel Operations.
“My immediate priority is to make sure that we focus on growing our sales volumes through superior customer experience and that we continue to bring the right product to our Israeli consumers”, said Maritz. “This exciting new challenge gives me the opportunity to expand my experience in a highly advanced and competitive vehicle sales and service market.”
General Motors markets the Chevrolet, Cadillac, and Opel brands in Israel and has two distributors. The automaker sold 13,400 vehicles in the market in 2015.
