We can do nearly anything from our smartphones and tablets these days. That includes some 007 style stuff, like locking, unlocking and even starting our vehicle.
The myCadillac mobile app bundles all of these creature comforts in one convenient location, plus more from the standard issue OnStar application. The app can tell you where your car is parked, manage the Cadillac as a wi-fi hotspot and even find a nearby Cadillac dealership should it be necessary.
The video above details everything you’ll find in one simple application. Work smarter, not harder, as they say.
Comments
“Can also work on Android smartphones”. GM sounds unsure about saying the words “Available for Android.”
What’s really missing from this app is concierge services.
“The new user experience for the myCadillac mobile app creates a seamless experience between your vehicles and your compatible Apple® and AndroidTM smartphones.” This indicates the app is applicable to both popular phone lines.
I wish both nearly identical apps, (myCadillac & OnStar’s RemoteLink) would incorporate a button to update vehicle diagnostic status, rather than the cumbersome method of dragging the status screen downwards to refresh it.
All other included app functions are intuitive and easy to figure out.
At least the RemoteLink app screen explains how to refresh it.
The myCadillac app only displays the screen, leaving first-time users mystified. I imagine a lot of potential users lost interest if they couldn’t figure out how to use what is one of the most useful functions in the app. The diagnostic screen refresh operation isn’t explained in the Help section or FAQs either.
One plus of the myCadillac app is the larger screen text which is nice for some people.
I especially like being able to download navigation directions that are readily available the next time I start my car.
This app begs the question: Is the RemoteLink app to be discontinued soon with this new app being marketed specifically to each of GM’s brands (myCheverolet, myGMC, myBuick, myCadillac) via the OnStar service as a replacement?

CC Clarke — yes, the RemoteLink app is being phased out to be replaced by the GM Brand apps, as you noted. We were instructed on this at Buick/GMC training last week.
I’ve used this app for over 6 months & IT’S WORKED FAWLESSLY! COME ON PEOPLE, THESE REVIEWS ARE ABOUT THE APP & NOT YOUR VEHICLE! I’m seeing comments like no internet connection, won’t log in, etc. If you have a good internet connection, a quality working device & know what you’re doing, this app will work as designed! Get someone to help you set it up correctly & teach you how to use the app & maybe we’ll see more realistic reviews posted! Oh & I’m not connected to Cadillac, just calling it like I’m seeing it! MY 2016 ESCALADE ESV IS AWESOME PERIOD!! PS: Also the Cadillac Infotainment people are the best, try calling them if you need help.
