Cadillac has announced its trim restructuring, updates and new features to its ATS and CTS sedans, which bring in modest changes. While the 2017 Cadillac CTS-V sees zero changes, one additional package will be offered for the 2017 model year.
Enter the 2017 Cadillac CTS-V Carbon Black Sport package, which provides a host of carbon-fiber and black trimmings for potential customers. We’ll let you dive into the details at our Carbon Black package story here, and reserve this space to sound off: is the Carbon Black Sport package hot, or not?
The package provides good contrast with the exterior colors, sprucing up the bodywork notably in the rear with a taller spoiler. Inside, a sueded steering wheel and gear selector, plus carbon fiber accents help the cabin finally feel more special than what Cadillac has done in the past. That’s our opinion, because the CTS’ interior can be a tad underwhelming at times.
The dark, midnight finish wheels and black chrome grille also help tone things down properly. The package will likely look downright sinister against the Black Raven exterior color.
Enough from us, we want to hear from you. How do you like the exterior package? Would it be an option box you’d tick? Or is it a hard pass? Let us know in our poll, and the floor is open for discussion.

I like chrome and the only thing I would get is the black rims and forget micro-fiber suede steering wheel and shift knob.
I would like to see one in person. Pictures often don’t tell the whole story . The suede in the interior can be left outa d I would like to see the spoiler in person. I love the CTS I don’t see a problem with it
I personally can’t wait for the black wheel fad to pass. Cars and trucks with black rims look like the vehicle has either 4 spares on, or all 4 wheels are just covered in brake dust and need to be hosed off. On this car the spoiler & grille look like they were put on at the auto body shop straight out of the box as black and are waiting for paint yet.
I know some folks love this but to me it all looks tacky. Not just on this car but on all makes and models that do it.
Matt agreed. We saw a blacked out CTS driving on the street and my wife said it looked like an old police car. If you want your product to represent a prestige product forget about reacting to fads.
