EcoCar3 Chevrolet Camaros Gutted In The Pursuit Of Fuel Economy

The EcoCar3 competition is well underway, with engineering students from The Ohio State University leading the charge, winning both year one and two milestones thus far.

But, EcoCar3 invites us to take a look behind the scenes of what students are doing to these sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaros, as they work to find a balance between fuel economy, and performance the Camaro is known for.

Following the link here will take you to a gallery of photos from during the design implementation process at The University of Washington. The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is gutted, and we mean gutted. Panels, bumpers, innards and more are all gone as students work to implement hybrid power in various ways.

Will Washington rise to the top? Only the rest of the competition will tell. Students have two additional years to finalize their Camaros.
