Detroit Tigers Partner With General Motors To Host Job Fair

General Motors is teaming up with the Detroit Tigers to help put on a massive job fair, as part of the Hiring Our Heroes campaign.

The event will begin at 9 a.m. this Friday, July 15, and run until 2 p.m. Any job fair attendee will also receive two free tickets to that evening’s Tigers game, according to The Detroit News.

“These are life decisions we all face,” Keith Nattrass, GM military and veteran affairs officer, said. “It’s a little more focused in the military. A lot of (veterans) are not really sure where they want to go.” The fair is meant to help veterans adjust to civilian life more easily.

More than 100 “veteran friendly” employers will be at Comerica Park for the fair, and each are seeking active personnel and reservists, plus spouses, for their organizations.

“The veteran brings self-discipline to the job. They’re always autonomous, ethical, timely, trainable and adaptable,” Nattrasss added.

“It makes a lot of great business sense to hire veterans.”
