Buick GMC Dealer Offering Service Discounts For Pokémon Go Players

Pokémon palooza continues across the globe, as more players become hooked to the latest smartphone game. Pokémon Go allows for players to catch Pokémon in the real world via their smartphones, battle for control over gyms and stop at local landmarks to refill essential items at PokéStops.

And businesses are taking advantage of the increased foot traffic. Flagstaff Buick GMC is now offering service discounts for players of the game.

The dealer will take $1 off a service visit for every level progressed in the game, up to $45. 45 is also the current max level in Pokémon Go. The discount also comes with a free car wash, according to Edmunds. Better yet for players? The dealership sits between four PokéStops.

“If we can create some goodwill because of the game, I’m all for it,” Christopher Taylor, general sales manager, said.

Taylor also plans for a Pokémon Park Party at a nearby facility, a spot full of Pocket Monsters waiting to be caught. The first 75 children who attend with an adult will receive a backpack stuffed with school supplies.

“This business is about creating a relationship between people and we believe this can help bring people into the dealership,” Taylor said.
