If this isn’t a reminder to not drink and drive (or simply not be reckless on public roads), we don’t know what is. According to MLive, a 53-year-old Muskegon driver went off the road in his pickup truck and plowed into 13 vehicles at Boulevard Used Cars.
Five of the 13 vehicles have been deemed totaled by the insurance company, while the other eight received significant damage. In total, estimates have reached $250,000 in damage.
“I pulled up (after being notified by police) and was just devastated,” said Business Manager JoAnn Chittenden. “I can’t fathom how fast he was going to launch the car that far. Thank God he didn’t hit someone; cars we can replace.”
Director of Public Safety Jeff Hawke said the man was moving at a high rate of speed when he veered off the road in his Chevrolet Silverado, running head first into a 2013 Cadillac XTS. He managed to push the XTS 20-yards before the vehicles wrapped around the dealerships’ sign.
Shrapnel from the initial impact impacted other parked vehicles while totaling others. Both front tires were ripped from the driver’s Silverado.
In all a 2014 Chrysler Town & Country, 2014 Jeep Patriot, the 2013 Cadillac XTS, a 2011 Buick LaCrosse and a 2011 GMC Sierra have been pronounced totaled.
The man was taken to North Ottawa Community Hospital and treated for injuries. Upon his release, he was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Well, that’s beyond stupidity. What a nice cars were totaled – to me, subjectively, in particular, 2011 LaCrosse and especially 2013 XTS.
At least, nobody was harmed.
I guess, in case the destroyer retains his driver’s license, his insurance rate will be set so high that he won’t be able to legally afford to drive. That would be fair. People like him shouldn’t be driving.
BTW, do we have any US law experts here? What may be a legal outcome of such a case?
Watch his lawyer will take the Dealer and GM to court and try to sue them for parking the cars there.
Then GM will settle as it will be cheaper paying the legal bills for winning.
was that an attempt at a joke or do you really think that is what is going to happen?
Pure joke but with today’s legal system it is not far from what is going on in some cases.
If you don’t believe it just follow up some of the cases we have seen and settled.
This guy will get off with some fines and a little jail time and odds are great he will drive again under the influence.
This time he may kill some one or himself.
Like I say there is a great lack of personal responsibility any more.
