2017 Cadillac CT6 Introduces New Livery Package: Feature Spotlight

Among the few changes to the 2017 Cadillac CT6 is the introduction of a new livery package. Assigned production code ZR3, the package includes only one feature — a complimentary 36 month/150,000 mile Professional Vehicle Protection Plan (PVPP).

The ZR3 livery package option is available only on CT6es equipped with the turbo-charged 2.0L LTG and naturally-aspirated 3.6L LGX engines; it is not available with the twin-turbo 3.0L V6 LGW, which — at the present time — is the highest-output motor in the full-size sport-luxury sedan.

In addition, to be eligible to order the ZR3 package, the vehicles must be delivered to a qualified funeral director, hotel/resort or for-hire Livery operator.

  1. A Livery package is for chauffer driving. If I had a CT6 I will drive it myself. Besides, why does a “funeral director” need it? His clients cannot complement or complain how the CT6 drives!

      There is always the bereaved and family members who would use the car, not just the deceased. That would be the job of the hearse.

  2. Funny how JDN was so adamant about Cadillac being done with Livery packages after the XTS and here we are with it being offerd on the CT6. Like i said in a older post, its good GM woke up and realized that was a bad idea.

    Cadillac needs this extra business and losing it would of hurt them. I am fine with the CT6 having this available since its only a temp flagship. When the CT8 or 9 hits the lineup nobody will think twice seeing CT6 limos and hursts. Even though I have liked some of JDN ideas, getting rid of a Cadillac livery business that its had for over 50 years was not one of them.

    1. I hear you but by only restricting availability Cadillac is still trying to limit it’s exposure to fleet/livery/rental operators which protects residuals therefore helping their lease program.

      Cadillacs are very popular with funeral directors especially so why not make that available. Also that business generally is not the same as fleet/rental/livery companies which order thousands of vehicles at once which can flood the market when they come back in. Funeral/resort clients generally will keep the vehicles until they have reached the end of their useful life.

  4. I couldn’t see GM giving up the livery market since they have been in it forever. As long as they sell the CT6, who really cares who buys it? My question is the CT6 platform able to be stretched for hearse and longer limousine duty? Granted, any vehicle can be stretched as long as a MCI J4500 🙂 but you often can say good bye to the warranty if the car builder didn’t give it’s blessing.

    1. The CT6 uses some pretty cutting edge technology on the body of the car which reduces it weight by 1000lbs. It is light weight fiber in a somewhat honeycomb fashion. Not sure you can cut it in half and stretch it very easily. Now if you can stretch this car the rear wheel steering will be a plus for the driver. If you have ever driven a stretch you know what I’m talking about.

  5. Perhaps they will have a fleet only CT6 with longer wheelbase and length by the time they discontinue the XTS for good.
    That way the CT6 will have proven itself by that time and operators will be more comfortable switching over.
