Pricing
Pricing for the Carbon Black sport package for the 2017 ATS has yet to be announced. We expect that to take place when 2017 model year production begins, likely in the August/September 2016 timeframe.
Carbon Black Sport Package For ATS-V
The Carbon Black sport package is also available for the 2017 Cadillac ATS-V, albeit with slightly different content. See more on the 2017 Cadillac ATS-V Carbon Black sport package.
Cadillac is trying to coax the ATS trough its final 2 years of existence. Nothing is wrong with that, if they would only squeeze another 20 or so hp from the 2.0T, and make available a decent, optional performance exhaust, they would certainly get more people excited. Minor stuff that is relatively easy to do, just to create a little buzz, as the ATS is fading badly, sales wise. Very sad, because it’s not a bad car
I think the ATS Coupe is the best looking, best engineered American car since the debut of the C2 Vette, but it is clearly… let’s say “underperforming,” in the marketplace. Offer the manual transmission with the new LGX V6, which is by all accounts a fantastic engine. The motoring press will do a new round of road tests and heap praise upon it along with the new (and finally acceptable) instrument cluster and sales will increase. The Alpha platform team must be absolutely furious. They hit a home run and the game isn’t even being televised. Also, to state the obvious, the LGW is in production and an ATS V-Sport should have already been announced.
A few points here, Cadillac clearly decided against the V sport, because the ATS is nearing the end of it’s life span, to be replaced soon, secondly, enthusiast have always been shouting about the virtues of a manual transmission, but the fact is, hardly anyone buys a manual whenever they are available, so I guess Cadillac, like Mercedes and Audi, have decided that its not worth it. The 2.0T is available with a manual, but the take rate is only 5%
The V-Sport would be nice to have in the line-up for the remaining years and it will be a forebearer for the successor V-Sport CT3/4 model.
Cadillac had the ELR with the sport package and pulled the plug in February so I don’t see why they can’t produce a small number of these. We all know they are not going to be big sellers but a sale is a sale. Cadillac already have the V-Sport accessories for the ATS.
To date in the Toronto area I have yet to see another ATS with this trim besides my own. 2 dealers I spoke with last November did not know it existed. Pathetic. You want to play with the big boys, you need your dealers to know the trends and know their product. Toronto is FULL of black trim BMW, audi, Mercs etc. Not one ATS besides mine.
