The spotlight may be all over the sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro at the moment, but it will be hard to forget about how sublime the fifth-generation Camaro Z/28 was. It pulled its track prowess off with the old, heavy Zeta platform, making the sky a limiter on what could be capable with the Alpha platform.
Evo is busy compiling their choices for Track Car of the Year at current, and the 2015 Camaro Z/28 has made the shortlist. The publication stated the Camaro Z/28 had enough performance to undercut the Caterham Seven 420R by six tenths, despite its massive size. Impressive.
However, the weight does take its toll on tires and brakes, per the report, eating them at will when the Z/28 gets busy doing its thing.
Check out the accompanying video above, and stay tuned to see which vehicle reins supreme.
