Yes, we realize this is a 2015 model year Buick Encore, however, the 2017 Buick Encore has not received any substantial updates in terms of safety and structure, meaning we can assume the damage pattern is very similar.
In the test, the Buick Encore performs the passenger side, small overlap test; the test is becoming increasingly more important as it mimics a vehicle leavings its lane and encountering either a stationary object, or another vehicle. You know, for when drivers text and drive, Snapchat and drive or whatever you want to fill in the blank with.
Here, the 2015 Encore receives an “acceptable” rating by the IIHS. The dummy inside looks fairly well protected by the impact, with side and frontal airbags helping to cushion the blow.

I have an Encore and had front end collision, $10,000 in damage. I walked away without a scratch. I was actually able to back it up by driving it and pull it up to the tow truck. It’s a little tank!
