Vehicle reviews are a dime a dozen. However, this review stands out, because Motoring TV also took the time to pick Cadillac brass’ brains on what the 2017 Cadillac CT6 means to the brand, and why executives are trying to not take a page from German luxury automakers.
Sure, we get the technical highlights, opinions on features and more, but its the insight from China, Cadillac CMO Uwe Ellinghaus and more that makes this a worthy viewing to spend just over six minutes of your time. At a time when crossovers and SUVs continue to suck up marketshare, and with a true Cadillac flagship vehicle on indefinite hiatus, the 2017 CT6 has big shoes to fill.
Does it stack up? Watch above to get your fill of CT6.

Good overall review.
Uwe Ellinghaus comments at the 4:28 mark are interesting in the direction that he wants to market Cadillacs. It’s OK to make the product as good or better than the Germans but Cadillac shouldn’t market itself like a German brand.
Exactly!
People buy Cadillacs in China and elsewhere vecause the ARE American. Something the self-hating Americans amongst us must realize and get over. Nobody likes a copycat.
what about the CT8 would be a sleek and appealing CUV with a 550hp V8 engine than it would sell like hotcakes…it would make more sense if the CT8 would be a CUV instead of a sedan because CUVs are ware the big sells are.
Any and all SUV s and CUVs will be under the XT# naming system.. That would be the worst thing Cadillac could do is name a crossover a CT8.. Even though they have done quite a bit of head scratching decision making of late, I don’t see that happening. I do agree with Speedy and think the CT8 in sedan form is still on its way… And I think it because I heard a Cadillac rep say it at a auto show and a dealer owner confirm that the car was actually pretty far ahead in development.. And I was told this within just the last month. They could of both just been blowing smoke, but some how I doubt it.
I doubt they are just blowing smoke also. Omega is to expensive to just be a one off.
Something more expensive is coming based on that platform.
I could see Cadillac scrapping the CT8 due to the general downward trajectory of sedan sales in favour of a XT8 in it’s place but something is coming.
Everytime Uwe talks, I like him more and more.
I have a feeling that CUVs will take over the future and CUVs don’t have to be fat, stubby and heavy…designers and engineers just have to more effort into CUVs to make them appealing to drive and in looks…..and than we could have a sleek appealing CT8 CUV
