Everything has a price, and apparently, the third row seats found in the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon are worth something.
The Fresno Bee reports thieves in the area of Porterville, California have been targeting Tahoes and Yukons for the SUVs’ third-row seats, which are valued at $1,000. This past Saturday and Sunday, burglars broke into three vehicles, removing the third-row seating across the city.
“We want to ensure that the owners of Chevy Tahoes or GMC Yukons having third-row seats are aware of the current trend and ask that they remain vigilant,” a news release said.
Police urge owners to store their vehicles away when not in use, or to remove the third-row from their vehicles when possible.
Update: the thefts only apply to those SUVs made before 2015. The current generation of Tahoe and Yukon have the third row bolted down.

Wait how do you steal the third row seats? Break the back windows?
This warning would apply to the 2014 and back models. The 2015 and newer models don’t have this issue as the third row seats aren’t removable now.
What the #ell are they using the seats for ? Selling them to chop shops ? Using them for something to sit on in their backyard ! Or their basement man-cave ? Worthless bums they are whoever is stealing these .
Three thefts in Fresno is news … ok. Got it. Probably furniture in a meth lab by now.
