Relive The 2016 IMSA Chevrolet Sportscar Classic In Detroit: Video

The IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship visited Detroit this past weekend for the Chevrolet Sportscar Classic at Belle Isle Park. The well-known GTLM class that Corvette Racing competes in was unfortunately absent from the event due to some of the field’s 24 Hours of Le Mans commitments, however the Prototype, Prototype Challenge and GT Daytona cars still put on a great show for the Motor City crowd.

The 2.3-mile, 13-turn street circuit at Belle Isle is certainly one of the tougher tracks on the IMSA schedule. Not only is it bumpy and relatively short, but lined with cement barriers just itching at the chance to ruin your day if you make a mistake. It’s rough around the edges and unforgiving – just like the city it’s located in.

If you missed the IMSA round at Detroit on Saturday, we invite you to watch the race in its entirety above. Not only do we invite you to do so, but highly encourage it, as both the Prototype and Prototype Challenge classes ran extremely entertaining races. We won’t ruin the results for you, but if you’re curious, you can follow this link for the complete rundown.
