This weekend the Verizon IndyCar Series returns to the road course for the 2016 Chevrolet Dual in Detroit at Belle Isle Park. The double-header weekend in Detroit is always a tough one for the IndyCar teams, with two races scheduled in two days on the tight and bumpy Belle Isle GP track.
While it’s tough for the teams to participate in a double header, it’s great for the fans, giving them two chances to see America’s fastest race series take to the track. The first IndyCar race of the weekend is scheduled for Saturday, June 4th at 3:35 p.m ET. You can catch the race live on ABC, with coverage starting from 3:30 p.m. ET Saturday.
Much like the first race, Sunday’s will also go green at 3:35 p.m. ET and will be aired live on ABC from 3:30 p.m. ET. If you’re on the road or not near a TV, you can also listen to both races through IndyCar Radio on channel 212 on Sirius or 209 on XM.
Last year Carlos Munoz won the first race of the double header weekend, while Sebastian Bourdais claimed victory in the second. Team Penske’s Simon Pagenaud will be looking to put another win towards his 2016 championship bid in Detroit, and due to his past successes there, we’ll be keeping our eyes on the Frenchman all weekend.
