General Motors wants to put individuals who have taken a two-year career break for whatever life dealt them back to work. Earlier, GM announced its pilot program to begin this, titled “Take 2.”
Following the success of the program, which initially covered only engineering positions, the initiative is being expanded this fall with two additional fields of interest.
GM will offer 12-week “auditions’ to prepare individuals for a full-time career in information technology, manufacturing and engineering through training, networking and more.
“The pilot of 10 interns this spring was so successful, we jumped at the chance to utilize this program to add experienced IT team members to our organization,” said Sue Brann, chief administration officer at GM’s Austin Innovation Center.
Positions have been posted for opportunities, which include slots at GM’s southeast Michigan campuses, including Warren, Milford and Pontiac, as well as the company’s IT innovation center in Austin, Texas.
