This video shows us footage captured by the Performance Data Recorder in this 2016 Cadillac CTS-V, piloted by John Buttermore, the lead development engineer for the Cadillac V-Series performance line. Needless to say, the man knows what he’s doing when it comes to wheeling performance cars around a track. In this case, the lovely Road America in Wisconsin.
Yes, the whine coming from the supercharged LT4 V8 is quite pleasing – and if you plug in your headphones you’ll be in for a treat. You see, the audio was recorded with in-ear binaural microphones so that you’ll feel like you’re actually sitting in the driver’s seat of the roaring CTS-V. And for the most part this is true, particularly when going over the rumble strips.
At this quality it is one of the more engaging hot lap videos we’ve seen (besides maybe this one, also at Road America), and you’re sure to enjoy it.
