Action Express Racing’s Dane Cameron topped Practice 2 in Detroit ahead of the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship Chevrolet Sportscar Classic with a lap of 1:23.860 in his No. 31 AXR Corvette DP.
Cameron led a Corvette sweep of the top four positions in the session. His teammate Christian Fittipaldi was 0.561 seconds off his pace to take second, while Visit Florida Racing’s Marc Goossens was 0.892 seconds behind in third. Wayne Taylor Racing’s Ricky Taylor posted the slowest time of the Corvettes and was 1.017 seconds off the leader’s pace.
Fifth fastest was Ozz Negri in the Honda-Ligier JS P2 with a lap of 1:25.353 – 1.493 seconds off Cameron’s pace. The slowest of the Prototype cars was the Mazda Prototype, with Tristan Nunez turning in a lap of 1:25.856.
IMSA qualifying will kick off at 5:05 p.m. tonight.
