Before we talk about what the 2016 Buick Envision is like, let’s see what the people who developed it have to say.
“The Envision is a very responsive, agile, compact crossover vehicle,” says Chief Engineer Judy Brennan. She then goes on to say that the “[Envision] rides like a sedan, and feels like an SUV” – comfort wise that is.
This level of comfort and refinery is enhanced by the design of the interior, which features ultra premium materials. Brennan is particularly fond of the Envision’s throttle response, which is courtesy of a 2.0 turbocharged Ecotec engine. She also enjoys the confidence it instills through cornering and high speed curves, which aren’t characteristics of your traditional crossover.
The 2016 Buick Envision starts at $42,000 which sounds like a lot for a C-segment crossover. Though we have to consider that the 2016 Envision is only offered in range-topping form, and AWD only. Look for the 2017 Buick Envision to be available in the fall, with a more accessible entry point, at $34,990.
Comments
I hope GM does offer the Buick Envision and its twins (Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain) as EREVS (same as Chevy Volt), so all future CUv owners can enjoy the pleasure and economy of electric driving but have the convience of using gasoline for longer trips.
CUVs may throw sedans aside in the future…..CUVs need to get rid of the wired, ugly exterior designs.
The sedan isn’t dead and has a great future. Wait till had prices spike and Cafe becomes more strict.
