Cadillac Adds Carbon Black Package To 2017 CTS Sedan

The 2017 Cadillac CTS will receive a new Carbon Black Package, according to a June 6th update to GM vehicle order guides.

Available on certain trim levels of the 2017 Cadillac CTS Sedan (as outlined below), the new Carbon Black Package includes:

  • Performance front bucket seats (AE4)
  • Black chrome grille (TTT)
  • V-Series spoiler
  • 18″ premium painted alloy wheels (PXZ)

The package is assigned GM RPO code A7A and requires:

Interior color

  • Jet Black with Jet Black accents (HOK) or
  • Light Platinum with Jet Black accents (HOL)

Exterior color

  • Crystal White Tricoat (G1W) or
  • Red Obsession Tintcoat (G7E) or
  • Phantom Gray Metallic (G7Q) or
  • Black Raven (GBA)

The Carbon Black Package is available on the following CTS engine configurations and trim levels:

2017 Cadillac CTS Sedan Black Carbon Package Availability
Engine Wheel Drive Trim Level
2.0L Turbo LTG RWD Luxury 1SE
2.0L Turbo LTG AWD Luxury 1SF
3.6L LGX RWD Luxury 1SN
3.6L LGX AWD Luxury 1SP
3.6L Twin Turbo LF3 RWD V-Sport 2SJ
3.6L Twin Turbo LF3 RWD V-Sport Premium 2SK

The CTS Carbon Black Package is not available with:

  • Rear spoiler (5V5, LPO)
  • Any other wheels

We should add that it appears that the CTS Carbon Black Package replaces the CTS Black Chrome package, which was announced in March. As such, we expect that vehicles equipped with the Carbon Black package will look similar to those with the Black Chrome package, with the exception of not having body-colored door handles while adding the V-Series rear spoiler and performance front bucket seats, two features that the Black Chrome models didn’t have.

Detailed information can be found in the Cadillac CTS order guide:

The CTS Carbon Black Package joins a similar package on the 2017 Cadillac ATS, expectedly named ATS Carbon Black Package.

My last GMC Terrain was painted Carbon Black Metallic and it is a very cool color . It was an option on the Terrain back in 2012 . Should make the CTS look sharp .
