Much has been said, both positive and negative, about the Cadillac ATS-V. All in all, it is difficult to argue against the notion that the ATS-V Sedan and ATS-V Coupe are highly-capable high-performance luxury vehicles. But what you can contest is whether the vehicle actually shows its performance adequately when it comes to the audible engine and exhaust notes from the twin turbo 3.6L V6 LF4 engine.
So, we recorded the engine sounds of an ATS-V Coupe, which we recently had in the GM Authority Garage (stay tuned for our complete review), and have put together this video. So, hit play and tell us in the comments whether the exhaust note gets your blood pumping, or if it has the opposite effect.

Just not as sweet as a v-8 rumble…….
You provide us with sounds of an ATS-V in a enclosed parking garage and expect it to be thrilling. Who’s Idiotic idea was this.
Let’s hear it in a street video and watch it accelerate down the street. This ad is for non-car guys and gals who have no knowledge of racing or muscle cars.
Jose — no one “expects” anything to be “thrilling” and no one is making “an ad”.
Now, if you want to talk about the reason behind recording in a garage, then I will tell you that there is a real, tangible, and real-world purpose for doing so — which is to provide a consistent environment (compared to the outdoors) for all of the vehicles we record. It’s called a baseline and it allows a level playing field for all recordings. Make sense?
You asked what I think of the note? I went to a Chev dealer and asked them to start a 2 SS Camaro. That is what we are looking for.
Agreed!
Yes, I like when I start mine up, headers, high flow cats and mufflers cut off the back……now that’s a rumble out of the 6.2 L engine…
Sounds like a Ricer with a big “Fart Can” to me.
How does the saying going ….. ” ….. you could have has a V8???!!! ….. “
Needs a V8 rumble!
Lousy!!! Show us a full boost launch breaking traction or just flat out boogying! That would be cool! Show us the boost gage pegging the red and then bang let it rip! Let us hear a blow off valve after full boost drive by!
The exhaust sounds fine. May not be the best in class but I have no problem with it. What matters most to me is everyday refinement, performance and sex appeal with an exclusive cache.
