Barrett-Jackson and Mecum never disappointment on the vehicles to cross each’s respective auction blocks. This time, as the Barrett-Jackson Northeast auction gears up, General Motors metal shines as it rolls into Mohegan Sun on June 23.
Notably, three vehicles will arrive with certain collector value. The first is a 1969 Chevrolet Corvette equipped with the beastly L88 engine. The behemoth comes with full factory paperwork, and will be the crown jewel of the GM vehicles to be in attendance. For some perspective, one of the last L88 Corvettes brought in $750,000.
“The selection of GM vehicles, especially the Corvettes, is always strong at a Barrett-Jackson auction,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “The L88 is one of the most impactful models from early GM history and to have one as documented as the one on our Northeast docket is an ultra-rare opportunity for our bidders.”
Additionally, a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 with the RS package will be offered up on the docket. Not only is it a numbers-matching Camaro Z/28, but one of the few Can Am 302 Cross-Ram coupes.
Finally, appeasing Pontiac fans, a real rarity is set to appear. A 1969 Pontiac GTO will cross the block, said to be 1 of 14 GTOs built with the potent Ram Air IV V8 engine and equipped with a 3-speed Turbo 400 Hydramatic transmission.
There’s still time to sign up as a bidder, if your checkbook allows for it. If not, be sure to simply sit back and watch the gorgeous cars between June 23 and 25.
