It seems Buick has quietly updated its webpage to feature the trim levels, options and pricing for each for the 2017 LaCrosse. Along with the pricing, we have a more solid availability date, too: July 2016 will see the brand’s latest full-size sedan trickle into dealerships.
We’d already received word that the 2017 Buick LaCrosse would start at $32,065Â (plus destination), but should you opt for additional creature comforts, the LaCrosse may be optioned out up to $43,265 for the Premium AWD trim.
In between the spectrum of base and Premium AWD are Preferred, Essence and Premium FWD, each starting at $36,065, $38,665 and $41,065 respectively.
Base 2017 LaCrosse sedans will arrive with HID headlamps, 18-inch aluminum wheels, 4G LTE WiFi with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and an eight-inch touchscreen unit. No additional options exist for the base, leading us to believe the Essence trim will be the volume seller. The Preferred trim also received no additional options, other than a cargo net and power tilt/telescoping wheel.
The Essence trim brings in, well, the trimmings. Articulating headlamps, perforated leather seats, auto-dimming review mirror, heated and memory seats all come standard in the 2017 LaCrosse Essence. A sunroof and sun shade are optional, as well as a premium sound and navigation package and side blindzone alert with rear cross traffic alert.
Finally, standard on the Premium FWD and AWD models are driver and front passenger lumbar seating with massage function, a heated steering wheel, safety alert seat and a heads-up display. The safety package is also standard on Premium trims. Premium sound and navigation, plus the sunroof, are still optional.
Does the 2017 LaCrosse seem well loaded to you? Or were you expecting more at this price point? Check out the entire trim break down here, and discuss below.

I believe that this is a very well loaded car, with a great pricing point. Heck, to get most of the options that you can get on a Lacrosse on a Lexus ES, you would probably already be at 50k. Not to mention that the exterior of the Lacrosse is much more bold and unique than the Lexus.
Like with everything GM does they make options that other companies have as standard. The Base and Preferred Trim should be eliminated and the Essence should be the Base Trim. For 32k you get nothing as far as options are concerned.
I would agree.
My 2nd gen 2010 LaCrosse CXL, having memory leather heated seats, moon roof and remote start, is like the third, Essence, trim of a new 2017 car.
The new car in its Base and Preferred trims is still deprived of too much features, IMHO.
So, in the first two trims, I guess, the new car will still fill rental fleets and seniors’ driveways, who want to save on vehicle, which is certainly not bad for GM sales volumes, but it will again slightly demerit this car’s and Buick image. It’s like by perennially sticking to these base “empty” trims they are somewhat “shooting themselves in their feet”.
I had a chance to see this at the auto show and it is ( I think ) the best looking full size luxury car from GM .
The designers did an excellent job in sculpting the body and the interior looks rich .
The option packages are a bit confusing though .
This car will surprise many.
It is so much more in person than photos.
It’s a looker, that’s for sure.
The 2017 Buick LaCrosse looks if it’s armed to hunt cars like the 2017 Lincoln Continental and Jaguar XE given the new LaCrosse’ size and price.
It will only be able to hunt Continental and XE, more or less, only when fully equipped (Premium with all the options on top of it). And then it’s price will be well north of 40K USD. So, fancy things aren’t cheap anyway.
Just to clarify, as an owner of 2nd gen LaCrosse, I like the new 3rd gen a lot – the new one seems way lighter both physically (in lb or kilos) and visually, because it now has rear quarter glass behind rear doors, and more curvy and overall less bulky visual appearance.
Combined with a considerably extended wheelbase and new powertrain, it should be a total pleasure to drive and own.
to me the 2017 Lacrosse looks better than the CT6….sad.
Just so GM Authority knows, Buick has updated its website again in the interior section.
I have to disclose that I am the Inventory Manager at a Buick GMC store. The 2017 LaCrosse is my next car, FWD, Premium trim and Bose with Navigation. I have one ordered in the new Pepperdust and one in Ebony Twilight.
In about 45 to 60 days, one of them will be in my garage.
Good for you!
