There are plenty of excellent engines on the planet, but there is nothing quite like a small-block V8. The LS9 is merely one iteration of small-block V8s, but it left a mark on the automotive world with the C6 Corvette ZR1.
And that is what we have here today. This C6 Corvette ZR1 has set the top speed record for any other 6.2-liter supercharged LS9 V8 on the planet. The driver clocks two top speed runs at 189 mph, which is impressive enough.
Then, on the third, he cracks 191 mph. Wow.
We’d venture to guess he was fairly untouchable at this event, even though there are plenty of 1,000 hp Corvettes that would likely love a piece of this C6 ZR1. Sadly, no specs are given on the build, so we’ll just have to enjoy the sights and sounds.
