We love you Aussies. Why? Because you know how to do cars. Big V8s, radical utes and sportwagons, the country is an American gearhead’s dream. We talk about you all the time.
That’s likely why 1320Video made the voyage down under to check out some of the hot metal tearing up the race track. In particular, this 1997 VS Commodore Ute was of interest. It looks like nothing, but then it does something. That something is a nine-second pass down the quarter mile.
Upon investigating, the car is running a stock LS2 engine with a massive turbo, with power being sent through a four-speed automatic to the rear wheels. All in all, it’s good for 510 hp on 11-pounds of boost at the moment.
And it’s times like these we wish the Pontiac G8 ST became a thing before that whole recession happened…
