All-New Chevrolet Cruze Arrives In Columbia

The all-new, second-generation Chevy Cruze has been launched in Columbia for the 2017 model year, bringing with it all the offerings of the brand new Chevrolet compact sedan.

For starters, the Colombian-market 2017 Chevrolet Cruze — which launched in North America for the 2016 model year as the 2016 Chevy Cruze — is an all-new vehicle: it rides on GM’s all-new D2 platform and delivers an all-new design inside and out, being 68 mm longer and weighing 113 kilograms less than the first-generation Cruze.

The vehicle is powered by the new 1.4 liter LE2 Ecotec turbocharged four-cylinder engine good for 153 horsepower and 240 Nm (177 pound-feet of torque) mated to the Hydra-Matic 6T35 six-speed automatic transmission. All this translates into a fuel economy of up to 64 kilometers per gallon on the highway (about 40 mpg) and 48 km/g in town (about 25 mpg).

The new Cruze is also up on its in-vehicle technology, featuring the all-new MyLink infotainment system with Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration technologies, as well as active safety features such as frontal collision warning and blind spot detection.

“The new, technologically-advanced Chevrolet Cruze has launched in Columbia just a few months after its debut in Detroit. The vehicle symbolizes the renewal of Chevrolet, which offers save and efficient products and has undoubtedly become a benchmark in the automotive industry,” said Jorge Mejia, President of GM Colmotores.
