Holden has made official what we’ve known for some time. The Holden Colorado 7 is dead. Long live the Holden Trailblazer.
The Trailblazer name will take the place of the Colorado 7 designation when the updated and refreshed sport utility vehicle debuts later this year in Oz. Holden says the luxurious features, improved ride and capability warranted it to take on the global nameplate.
“With the redesigned 2017 Trailblazer, we have dialled up the luxury and ride comfort to offer a more premium SUV that’s comfortable and confident in urban areas, but remains just as capable for weekend adventures,” said Holden’s Executive Director – Marketing, Geraldine Davys.
“The move to adopt the Trailblazer name emphasizes the vehicle’s new direction into a more luxurious and premium space.”
The 2017 Chevrolet Trailblazer was revealed in Brazil, where it sports plenty of design cues from the Chevrolet Trailblazer Premier concept, which was shown in Bangkok two months ago. More premium interior materials, refined exterior design, but rugged capability are present, along with the most up-to-date technology and safety features.
Look for the 2017 Holden Trailblazer to debut later this year.

What does GM need to do to bring this (or a GMC variant) over to North America? GM needs a real Grand Cherokee-fighter.
What a load of PR crap from GM Sean, an honest statement from GM would read “The Colorado was a sales and marketing disaster as the vehicle was completely under engineered for Australian conditions, so in hoping that you forget we sold you a crap vehicle we have changed to the name to reflect our see through attempt at selling more units to you, our Australian shit car dumping ground”. The competition is giving us hellcats, ever faster mustangs, new skylines from nissan etc etc etc while you give us this GM. GET YOUR FKIN SHIT TOGETHER GM.
Time for GM to bring the Trailblazer back to N.A.-When Tahoe’s are running near $60,000 and up, a full load 6 passenger Blazer, a true, “body on frame” off road capable mid size SUV should top out about there and would fit the budgets of families better. Give it the slate of engines the Colorado/Canyon have including the diesel. Come on GM, what’s keeping you?
