London Sinkhole Swallows Vauxhall Zafira: Accident Watch

The look on this Vauxhall Zafira owner’s face must have been priceless to see his Zafira swallowed up by a massive sink hole over in Britain.

The footage you’ll see in this video captures the aftermath of a large sinkhole in London – it’s roughly 30-feet long, 10-feet wide, and 10-feet deep. Ghazi Hassan had been visiting his brother in Woodland Terrace in Greenwich, South East London. According to reports, police arrived at around 3:20 in the morning, at which time Hassan became aware of the occurrence. With full coverage insurance and not seeing how he could mediate the problem, he simply went back to bed.

Officials have not yet identified the cause of the sinkhole, though it is speculated that heavy rain and a foundation of 50-million-year-old sand and gravel are to blame.

An unfortunate event for sure, but at least it wasn’t another multi-Corvette-eating sinkhole.
