GMC has announced that its line of Sierra pickup trucks will offer a camera that provides a view of the cargo bed.
Set to be offered this summer, the camera will be integrated in the center brake lamp housing. Not only will it provide a view of the cargo bed contents, but it will also deliver additional assistance when connecting a fifth-wheel/gooseneck trailer.
The announcement of the cargo bed camera coincides with the release of a new trailering blind-spot-assistance camera system and the availability of a factory fifth-wheel/gooseneck attachment system on the 2016 GMC Sierra HD.
To note, the cargo box camera will also be available on the Sierra’s Chevy twin — the Chevrolet Silverado.
