General Motors Company’s primary joint venture in China — Shanghai GM — is recalling 2.2 million vehicles over due to insufficient corrosion resistance on crankcase valves.
According to China’s product quality regulator, the recall was initiated after consumers complained to Shanghai-GM about engine damage. The recall impacts Buick Excelle sedans as well as the Chevrolet Cruze, Epica and Aveo. GM will replace affected valves free of charge.
To note, Shanghai GM is a joint venture between GM and China state-owned Shanghai Automotive Industries Corp.

If this were an airbag related call, then this would cost billions for 2 million units..
