Chevrolet Shows Off The Production 2016 Silverado Special Ops Edition

It seems every few weeks a new special edition Chevrolet is being presented to us. This time, it’s the production variant of the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado Special Ops concept, which debuted at last year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

Unfortunately, it seems the production edition is a tad watered down. The concept featured a very cool “razzle dazzle” paint hue, inspired by naval ships. This production variant simply wears glossy black.

However, Chevrolet has applied naval inspired graphics to the exterior, and included all exterior equipment found on the Blackout Edition Silverado. Included with it are 20-inch black, aluminum wheels, a darker window tint, black bowties, bed-mounted sport bar with “Special Ops” branding, a spray-in bedliner plus a few other odds and ends.

Inside, it’s much of the same, with the production variant also ditching the awesome ejector orange accents found in the concept’s interior.

Chevrolet will donate a portion of each Silverado Special Ops’ sales price to the Navy SEAL Museum in Fort Pierce, Florida, which aids in helping the families of fallen, injured, and active duty military through their efforts with Trident House and scholarship programs. Chevrolet invites those interested to their local dealer to receive information on availability.

  1. Man, the concept looked a lot better. What happened to the fog lights and the extra grill lights? What about the wheel flares? Using black makes this less unique but might open it up to more consumers instead of only Navy vets. Any active special operators would never buy this because they don’t draw undue attention to themselves.

  3. My neighbor across thr street owns one, and I don’t know why, but I’ve always really liked it. There’s just something appealing about it that I can’t quite explain. That is actually what led me to this article, just looking at his and typing Spec Ops Edition Silverado lol
