Cadillac has told us how to feel about the brand, but it has yet to give a space to experience Cadillac. Unless, you count the business it’s in: selling cars. However, Cadillac wants to expand its luxury presence at its “Cadillac House” space in New York City.
The brand is preparing to open a coffee shop inside the Cadillac House, according to Bloomberg, which will also house an art gallery and retail boutique. The entire space is scheduled to open on June 2 to the public, and will feature work from Visionaire, a creative firm and magazine, and fashion brand Timo Weiland will sell clothing in a pop-up shop: 12:29.
“We have tried to tell people what you’re supposed to feel from the Cadillac brand,” said Melody Lee, who is Cadillac’s brand director. “But what we hadn’t quite fully established was an environment that you could walk into.”
If you’d like to enjoy a cuppa with Cadillac, the Cadillac House is located at 330 Hudson Street in New York City. And, no, it’s not a car dealership in the slightest.

Watch out Starbucks!
Server: “Welcome to the Cadillac coffee shop.”
Patron: “Yes, I’d like an Espresso, please.”
Server: “No problem. But this is Cadillac – our really good stuff won’t be in until 2020. So if you can wait for four years …”
Patron: “Yeah, sure – I’ll wait around for four years, no problem …”
Server: “Could I interest you in some men’s fashion items in the meantime?”
Somehow I don’t that this will become a tourism hotspot
So here is the REAL reason the CT8 was cancelled. So they could funnel the extra resources to this coffee house… ?. Don’t worry, I won’t quit my day job.
Fashion! Helicopters! Coffee!
ABC! (Anything But Cadillac).
Message to Cadillac. Focus people! Focus!!!!!! It’s about the cars, not this nonsense. Come back to Detroit where you belong.

No, Cadillac is to focus on luxury and conveying a luxury lifestyle to luxury consumers. Expensive coffee is part of the equation.
“Come back to Detroit where you belong.”
No. Cadillac is to stay in New York because New York is the America’s doorstep, it’s America’s most globally recognized city, one of the most economically important cities on earth, it represents the pulse of the contemporary luxury consumer, and has a massive luxury consumer market, if not one of the largest in the world.
Detroit simply isn’t a big a luxury market, and isn’t as important on the worlds stage. It’s roots may be in Detroit, but it’s eyes and it’s ambitions are on the world, and New York is where it will meet and present itself to the world.
I wonder if the coffee cups will have the Cadillac emblem on them !?! Maybe some of the condiments will have Cadillac names ……. ” would you like some V-Sport with your order ” . 🙂
Cadillac Coffee CT9 3/4 commands a robust .45654% retail share of the Premium Coffee Retail Market in NY.
ATPs have risen to a dizzying $5.65!
What am I missing????
If I were a GM shareholder I would be so hacked off, I’d be calling Mary Barra or is it Mary Barista?
All a part of brand building.
Mercedes puts it’s name on non-automotive products regularly without drawing the ire of shareholders.
Dedicating a couple of million (if that) of the $12B does not affect what Cadillac has planned for it’s vehicle line.
Cadillac is not Mercedes and Mercedes is not peddling coffee!
Sorry but this is nothing more than “Nero fiddling while Rome burns”!
Rome is not burning BTW and the sky is not falling.
Cadillac is not Mercedes correct but they both (among many other luxury auto makers) are branding non-core products.
They are putting one coffee shop at their NYC headquarters. It is hardly news and nothing demonize them about.
This would have been trendy and cool 20 years ago. Cadillac management is too old and behind the times. I literally worked at a fused coffee house-gallery in 1998!
Cool $5 a cup Cadillac coffee with a fancy paper cup with Cadillac emblems. Might sell more coffee than Cadillacs. Seems I see more foreign cars when I go back east than American products. Stay focused
Luxury Brands should identify with luxury items. They do go hand in hand. It will be more about the experience than the coffee or $75.00 T-shirt. They should stay in N.Y., Detroit is not where you make a luxury brand statement (today).
I do agree they need more focused advertising.
