New York City Cadillac House Investment Is Reportedly Worth Millions

The Cadillac House will officially welcome the public into its space tomorrow, but CNBC got a look behind the action as to what will be going on when the space officially opens.

Again, Cadillac reiterated it will not be about selling cars here. Instead, expanding the brand image is the important part. And what better city to do it in than where the brand is officially headquartered?

The report also states the Cadillac House was part of the New York City move, an investment worth “millions” to the brand, and it surely hopes it will pay off by helping the public realize what Cadillac is trying to be in today’s modern society.

The Cadillac House will feature a coffee shop, pop-up retail space and a rotating art exhibit, along with a handful of Cadillac vehicles.

  1. Just curious – how did they calculate that “worth millions” figure?

And, as far as I know, CNBC is pretty far down the viewership food chain.

But seriously – how and why is it worth millions? It’s possible – I think a few of us want to see the metrics and time frame used to make it worth so much.

No real estate is cheap in Manhattan.

    1. Guessing the correct terminology would be “Cost” millions and not “worth” millions.

  2. A brown stone can be worth millions in Manhattan.

As you stated No Real Estate is cheap in Manhattan. As they say location, location.

Just part of the Marketing to change the image by making all things appear exclusive.

I need no evidence of worth here as it is all over prices on the island.

You want to see how much it is worth then just look at how much they paid. That would be the most recent Metric.

GM did the same thing with the GM building on Park Ave just off Central Park. It is on some of the most expensive property in the world.

  3. I think They mean worth millions in marketing value, not the real estate. That said, it seems a total waste to build brand image in a location, Manhatten, NYC, where comparatively few cars are sold. The people that will go to Cadillac house will be using mass transit or taxis back to their apartments where garage space could cost more monthly than a car. Total waste for GM stockholder, great for those who relocated to NYC.

    1. Also good for anyone visiting the city who happens to walk by and take a peak inside out of curiosity.

  4. The third paragraph of the article shows just how misguided the operators of Cadillac are . To spend millions of dollars on a corner coffee shop to somehow elevate the tarnished image of Cadillac will go down in history as one of the worst decisions ever made at the division .
How is this going to grab new and younger customers in all 50 States or retain the older customer base . Spending that kind of money could have gone into sprucing up the dealerships waiting rooms or the sales floor or the facade of any of Cadillacs older dealerships . This is where you try and create a better image withe the people that have bought or ordered their new car . If you go to a Cadillac dealership and buy a $70-100,000 dollar vehicle the surroundings or atmosphere should make you feel like a million bucks and the salesman should offer you a free cup of coffee while you wait .

    1. Did you read that Cadillac is updating for showing exhibits every several months? It is more about Joe Coffee selling coffee in Cadillac House but is more about the lifestyle and public publicity. Obviously, if you visit any establishment, it is common sense to offer refreshments if you have a need for them.
