The Dodge Hellcat duo has become somewhat of a performance benchmark for American muscle cars. However, we’re not along in stating the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is not just a pony, muscle or whatever car anymore. It’s a thoroughbred performance coupe.
While a stock 2016 Camaro SS will succumb to the 707 hp being put down from a Challenger Hellcat, Hennessey Performance Engineering has fixed that. HPE has massaged the sixth-generation Camaro’s 6.2-liter LT1 V8 to produce 751 hp, with the help of some forced induction. Lighter weight, and extra power do wonders here.
It’s not even a contest as the two roll race down an abandoned strip of concrete. However, HPE says to tune in again to see how its 850 hp Challenger Hellcat performs against this same 751 hp Camaro.
