This year the World Poker Tour Tournament of Champions has an entry fee of $15,000 for former champions, and this has been rather discouraging for those who intended to compete. In fact, many voiced their concerns online, and they were heard by WPT CEO Adam Pliska who decided to add more incentive to the winnings.
In order to sweeten the deal and entice more competitors, a brand-new Chevrolet Corvette has been added to the pool prize along with $100,000 and a-whole-lot of other goodies. Pliska also announced these other added incentives:
- A special Hublot watch
- An Aurae Solid Gold MasterCard
- A pair of gold Monster 24K Headphones
- A custom premium poker table from BBO Poker Tables
- A seat in Tiger’s Poker Night Presented by World Poker Tour
- A round of golf at the Shadow Creek Golf Course with Matt Savage and two friends
As of now there are 19 regional champions of WPT Main Tour Events that are eligible for a free entry, with one other person joining the list before the TOC begins on April 22nd. So, if you want to win that shiny new Corvette, $100K, and the other prizes, you’ll need to defeat the world’s best players while also dealing with the newly added Action Clock – a 30-second counter that will start each time a hand is dealt, limiting the decision time each player has.
If it were us, we would probably just buy a C7 Corvette and leave the card playing to the pros.
