Jane Mendillo Nominated To General Motors Board Of Directors

With the announcement of Stephen Girsky’s retirement from the General Motors Board of Directors, the automaker also announced his successor.

Jane Mendillo, formerly of the Harvard Management Company, has been nominated by the board to stand for election, filling Girsky’s vacated seat.

Jane brings to the Board a demonstrated track record of performance through her decades of investment management experience,” said GM Chairman and CEO Mary Barra. “She has generated proven results through periods of rapidly changing market conditions. Her experience and leadership will be especially valuable as we continue to strengthen our investor outreach and engagement.”

During her time at the Harvard Management Company, Mendillo was the president and CEO, and managed the Harvard University endowment fund. Upon her departure, the endowment fund stood at $37 billion. She was also recently elected to the Board of Lazard Ltd.

Mendillo will stand for election at GM’s Annual Meeting of Shareholders, which will be held on Tuesday, June 7 at GM’s Global Headquarters in Detroit.
