I think it’s a mistake to charge extra for the paint on your flagship vehicle. Cadillac should fold the cost into the base price, also the CD player should be standard on every one. Charging a $250.00 option on an $80,000 car when they come on Toyotas and Nissan’s seems “cheap”!
who need cd player today?
it’s standalone option for those who still have a ton of cd-s on the shelf
Although advancement of music is welcome thru other media sources like MP3 Player, I-Phone and etc., MP3 does not offer the exceptional sound quality compared to a CD once you download them from E-Music, I-Tunes or etc. I have an audio enhancer when I revised my music with better sound quality after downloading them and burn them on CDs.
I agree with John that it is ridiculous that Cadillac does not offer them as standard and I prefer a CD, better yet a CD changer if I feel the need to listen to CDs sometimes.
Haha CDs. in another couple years no car will have them.
No “Dare Greatly” in these dull, drab, colors!
I like the Dark Adriatic Blue Metallic , if I could get a tan interior or light titanium . GM has this ” pumpkin colored ” leather interior that looks awful . I have seen it in a few of their cars . My Cadillac dealer has a CT6 that is black with this pumpkin leather interior . Not sure what the real name for it is . It ruined the cars looks for me.
Eight of these colors you can get on any GM car , they must have gotten a good deal from DuPont . Plus the colors are old . I think Cadillac could do better with a different palette for their new car .
I know that their extra cost colors are more labor intensive because of the extra step in the tinted clear coat , but not for 8 of 10 colors . If it was a special color I could see it but not for their traditional colors . Just because they are charging more for the paint doesn’t make it ” special ” . A few years ago a tri-coat was special , it was considered an extra cost option . It’s the customers that will buy into this , and thats sad .
Paint option just another way to pick the pocket of your customer. Take the cost of paint per car and average it out as part of your base price. I know a few people who were turned off by GM’s pricing games. Not the way to sell Cadillacs
I have a 2014 Cadillac xts that is a “Chanpagne” color, best looking color I have ever had on a Cadillac! WHY would they (GMC) get rid of a color that is that great, not just my opinion, but everyone that looks at the vehicle says “what a great color”.
Donald — I have to step out here and say that GM (and Cadillac) know what they are doing as it relates to selecting color options. If a color gets dropped or replaced, it’s because there is real market demand/evidence to support the decision to do so. So while a few might like a color, there are probably a lot more who would prefer a different color. And since colors are a limited resource (there can only be so many of them offered on a single model), then the more popular ones will usually prevail.
