Hennessey Performance Engineering decided that it would celebrate its 25th anniversary by beating the world record for fastest convertible production car – a title previously held by the Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse. Setting the record back in 2013, the Bugatti convertible was able to reach a top speed of 254 miles per hour, the Venom GT Spyder, however, has just recently reached a top speed of 256.6 miles per hour.
Yes, amazing things can happen when you mount twin precision ball bearing turbochargers, piles of other modifications, and piles of money at a GM-sourced 7.0 LS7 V8. By turning up the boost and running E85 HPE was able to go from 1,244 hp to 1,451 hp. Driver Brian Smith unleashes all of its fury at the Naval Air Station Lemoore.
