Hennessey Twin Turbo Camaro ZL1 HPE1200 Dyno Run: Video

Another day, another dyno run. And how could you ever possibly grow tired of watching Hennessey Performance Engineering test its impressive products, like this Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 that has had its factory Eaton supercharger replaced with two turbochargers. The result is an incredible 1,145 rwhp which equates to over 1,300 hp at the flywheel, and is just shy of doubling the factory 580 hp mark.

Obviously we would be more than happy to take such a car for a spin, with all that rubber-burnin’ power it’s a guaranteed good time. We wonder, though, what Hennessey will do once it gets its hands on the recently unveiled 2017 Camaro ZL1.

As you would expect, the exhaust note coming from this monstrous Camaro is quite gratifying – so turn up the volume before you hit play.

  1. Possibly the direction Chevrolet engineers may need to adopt if they want to build an engine with 30-50% more power than the LT4; imagine a C7 Corvette ZR1 with a 960 horsepower engine.

  2. Can a manufacturer really warranty a car for 5 years/100,000 miles at 800 hp plus?
