GM’s Opel Grows Passenger Car Sales 1.3 Percent To 23,400 Units In March 2016

General Motors European subsidiary, Opel, continued its upwards trend in March, increasing both sales and market share in its home market of Germany.

Sales volume grew 1.3 percent to about 23,400 passenger cars, just as the overall German passenger car market remained stagnant, growing just 41 units.

The brand attributes its healthy March performance to high demand for the 2016 European Car of the Year, the new Opel Astra, as well as healthy demand for the Meriva (most popular in the MPV B-Segment), Opel Mokka (number one in the crossover B-Segment), and Zafira Tourer.
