So far we’ve really enjoyed the GMC #OurUAE mini-series, especially this final opener in which Mohammad and Majed decide to take the GMC Sierra 3500HD off-roading for some good ol’ fun in the sun. After getting the Sierra layered in mud, our travelers continue to Dalma, where they’ll meet a professional diver.
Yousuf Ali Al Hammadi is a fisherman and pearl diver. He tells the two journeymen that Dalma island has been known for its pearls for quite a long time, before the Union actually. The pearls were used for trade, and are still collected today, though it is much easier thanks to modern technology.
After a quick dive, Mohammad and Majed visit Dana El Hammadi. She’s a mother of five, and considers her greatest achievement to be raising the Emirati flag at the South Pole, as she was the first Emirati woman to reach it. She hopes that her achievement encourages other Emirati women to break through their fear and shyness and reach their potential.
With her experience in adventure, the two men ask her for advice as they’ve reached the end of their trip. She tells them that the adventure is never over as long as they have clear goals that will help themselves and their community.
After departing from Dana’s home, Mohammad and Majed reminisce on their adventures. The trip isn’t officially over until they take a selfie, of course. After the kodak moment, there’s some behind the scenes footage for you to enjoy.
