Callaway Corvette Z06 With SC 757 Package Hits 202.3 MPH At Mojave Magnum: Video

What a time to be alive – Chevrolet unveils the beastly 2017 Camaro ZL1, Lingenfelter is making over nearly double the factory power with the current Camaro ZL1, Hennessey sets a new record for world’s fastest convertible with the Venom GT Spyder, and now Callaway Cars shows us the capabilities of a C7 Corvette Z06 equipped with its SC757 package.

Under the hood of Corvette Z06 sits the powerful LT4 V8, married to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Callaway’s work on the Corvette allows it to reach a top speed of 202.3 miles per hour at the Mojave Magnum event in Las Vegas, Nevada — a longer version of the Mojave Mile.

For those who may not be familiar, the Mojave Mile is where racers head to compete for the highest top speed. The difference between the Mile and the Magnum is an extra half-mile of runway. The SC757 Callaway Corvette Z06 may or may not have been the fastest car at the event, but in any case you have to admit that it is pretty impressive.

  1. I know 203 mph is impressive but unmodified the Corvette can do 190 to 195 mph. Is it worth the extra $18k or with all the options 35k just to go 10 mph faster and fractions of a second faster 0-60?

    1. Hey Glenn, thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts.

I’d say that it’s worth it to someone who uses their vehicle to actually compete. I’m sure many others will find that it is worth it simply because of the exclusivity/bragging rights.

This is just my .02, and that’s the thing about value – it’s projected through the eye of the beholder. Personally, I’m more of a DIY guy.

  2. I bought one of these myself recently: http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c7-z06-discussion/3801951-z06-augmented.html

Straight line speed is nice but I track (road course) my cars including the Callaway in a couple of weeks. I expect, depending on the track, that I will see better lap times with this additional HP and hopefully the auxiliary GM radiator will help with heat generation. I had a 15 Z06/Z07 so I have a baseline for a true comparison between the two cars.

The upgrade was worth it to me not only for the additional HP, but also because of warranty and value retention. A lot of performance companies will add HP to a C7Z a lot more cheaply, but good luck getting stuff fixed under warranty at the Chevy dealership if anything goes kablamo.

Oh and it’s also crazy fun to drive and sounds insane with the Corsa X pipe and Extreme axle-back installed. 🙂

  3. I would guess the stock ZO-6 is chipped for the max speed allowed for the stock tires.

  4. It never says anything about the 0-60 or 1/4 mile times! So what are they?
