We Render The Cadillac Escalade Midnight Edition (aka Escalade Black Chrome)

It’s no secret that we have been long-time proponents of Cadillac vehicles equipped with black-out Midnight Edition (now called Black Chrome) packages… not because we like how they look (we do), but because the black-out theme is gaining steam in the luxury space faster than an engine in a locomotive.

In the past, we have rendered a Cadillac CT6 Midnight Edition as well as a Cadillac XT5 Midnight Edition. And now, our rendering wizards have given the Midnight/Black Chrome treatment to the Cadillac Escalade, in black and in white.

2016 Cadillac Escalade Midnight Edition in black

Those unfamiliar with the Midnight Editions should know that the idea is fairly simple: replace shiny/chrome exterior elements like the grille, wheels, window trim (and more) — and coat them in black. Cadillac is currently offering the package on the ATS and CTS.

More on current Cadillac vehicles with the Black Chrome package:

Applying the treatment to the Escalade results in the ultimate expression of Midnight Edition/Black Chrome: the black Escalade takes on an incredibly sinister appearance — there’s simply no other way about it. On the other hand, the white Escalade Midnight takes on a more stylish look that’s much less sinister than the black one, but still very stylish. We should also note that we debated giving the white one black mirror caps… but decided not to.

So, what do you think of our Escalade Midnight Editions? Should Cadillac bring this package to market? Talk to us in the comments.

  3. Blacked out chrome on luxury cars is not my cup of tea, but I got to see live shots of it before giving an evaluation instead of giving one on rendered shots.

  4. The top pic looks like a base model Escalade missing body colored anything. But the wheels are nice lol.

  5. I really like these renderings, and personally prefer the look over the more chrome covered versions. I would purchase this package if it were offered on the Cadillac especially the white version. I would love to see similar renderings of the GMC Yukon as well. These two cars have too much chrome in my opinion, and I have always thought the chrome trim surrounding the side windows make these SUVs look like a hearse.

  6. Iv’e been waiting for you guys to come out with these renderings . The white one looks Rodeo Drive / Mid-Town Manhatten to me and the Black one looks like downtown Detroit / Mafia style .
I like the white one best only because the black one is to much black .
