The first-generation GMC Terrain is getting a handful of changes for the 2017 model year.
To start, the 2017 GMC Terrain replaces the Iridium Metallic exterior color with the new Graphite Gray Metallic. In addition, the 2017 Terrain does deletes two sets of wheels — the 17-inch aluminum (RTN) and 19-inch chrome-clad aluminum (RBM). In their place is a new set of 18-inch aluminum wheels with gloss black accents (RRT) as part of the new Nightfall Package.
Pictured above, the 2017 GMC Terrain Nightfall package is essentially a black-out option. It includes:
- Charcoal grille with gloss Black surround and accents
- Black front and rear fascia accents with gloss Black rear license plate trim
- Body-color door handles
- Charcoal luggage rails
- Outside heated power-adjustable and gloss black manual-folding mirrors
- 18″ x 7.0″ (45.7 cm x 17.8 cm) aluminum wheels with gloss black accents
The 2017 model year will likely be the last of the first-gen Terrain, as we expect it to get replaced by the all-new, second-generation model — the 2018 GMC Terrain.

Comments
That makes two more models being pushed back a year for new generations………hmmmmm .
No matter , they are still selling alot of these twins it’s just more money in GM’s coffers .
To really help in the change for this Nightfall edition , they should have put the Denali headlamp housing on it , it’s blacked out more than the typical lamps . Plus those 18″ wheels are to small , they don’t fill out the wheel housing as well as 19’s would have .
The terrain interior is so dated. The infotainment system is terrible.
Despite it not being the most cutting edge, it’s still a solid cabin. The same goes for the infotainment system: it works and is functional… and let’s not forget about OnStar 4G LTE with Wi-Fi hotspot. Which other vehicle in its segment has that?
