  1. For 2017, this car should also come with the new 10-speed transmission along with a slight power boost of 675 bhp and 670 lb-ft. Therefore, EPA numbers should rise slightly to 15-16 mpg city and 22-24 mpg on the highway. Gm always seem to forget the powertrain updates. Nevertheless, the 2017 CTS-V would definitely make the Germans sweat with these recommended updates.

    1. The 10 speed transmission would be a welcomed addition but not much need for a power boost. This 2wd sedan already has trouble putting down the 640hp/650lb.ft. it already has.

      1. Personally, I feel a 10 speed transmission would be too many gears for a track ready car like the CTS-V. But then again, I thought the same thing about 8 gears. Most 8 speed automatics have a hard time being in the correct gear when on the track. CTS-V has done a great job, not sure 10 gears would be able to perform as well. Gears ratios are already very close.

        1. If GM’s maiden implementation of this new hot-box are any indication in the countless reviews and praises of the blistering new 2017 ZL-1, which shares nearly everything else powertrain with the 2016 CTS-V, you simply couldn’t be more wrong. The top 2 gears will be strictly for OD, and 1-4 up-shifts are ~30% quicker than a Porsche PDK (!!!!!), according to GM.

  2. What about the extrerioR?

    1. No need for exterior mods just yet since the CTS V was only introduced summer 2015.
Save the exterior enhancements for a couple more years when the look begins to get a little stale.

      1. Even if Cadillac has the car out several more years throughout its cycle, I don’t think the exterior will ever get stale.

    2. Why not ,I mean if a regular cts is gettin a lil exterior update, why not to do the same with the v version

  3. Rear camera mirror is something so important that General Motors should allow every vehicle in their entire lineup in the world to have as an option for.

  4. -Now that the Germans are all over 600hp time to turn up the wick to 740 with 750 for the LT4 Corvette.

-Add some non metallic vibrant colour choices

    -7 speed rev matching manual

My cheque book is ready, when/if this happens.

  5. These V-series vehicles is such a rarity on the road. Because of the steep price, only few thousands are sold each year in US and way less in Canada.
More like a halo vehicle for Cadillac, than a real money maker.

To me, teen driver feature in V-series vehicle is questionable. I believe it’s not the best idea to allow teen driver into CTS-V “monster” with 640 hp. Unless, the teen is already a professional Go Kart racer or something.

    1. Besides being halo cars (a true statement), Cadillac makes a significant amount of money on each and every one of them.

As for Teen Driver: first and foremost, the V Series are very capable and high-performing cars, but they are by no means “monsters” that can’t be driven by teens or other inexperienced drivers. In “everything on” form, the car is drivable by pretty much anyone with a pulse and a drivers license, and the electronic safety and accident prevention tech such as traction and stability control will save those who overstep their boundaries from themselves. Now, you don’t feel it’s a good idea, you (obviously) aren’t required to use it. But you don’t need to use it on “teens”… you could use it on “friends” or other members of the family who you don’t trust with your V. It’s a good feature to have to put limits on the car, plain and simple.

  6. Do you guys at GM Authority know anything about there being a deletion of the exterior carbon package for the 2017 model year ctsv? The reason I ask is because my father spoke to a Salesman at a GM dealership the other day and according to the salesman Cadillac is doing away with the exterior carbon package, which when he told me I found hard to believe. I figured I would ask you guys to confirm or deny this.

    1. Pat — the only items being deleted from the 2017 CTS-V are Summer/Winter Mat Package (PCN) and Premium carpeted floor mats (VYW). The Carbon Fiber Package (CFZ) is still on the order sheet as of July 1, 2016… so I think your dealer/salesperson is highly mistaken.

      1. Thats what i figured….i dont know if the Salesman my dad spoke with was a Cadillac-specific salesman (god i hope not because if so thats a fairly-sized piece of misinformation he gave out) or not. As soon as my dad told me that i thought to myself, “what?! No, that doesnt sound right.”
