2016 Vauxhall Astra Receives The Royal Treatment For Queen’s 90th Birthday

Queen Elizabeth II will turn 90 years old on April 21, 2016, and Vauxhall wants to ensure her Majesty has the right wheels for her big day.

Therefore, the British-build Vauxhall Astra has received a few upgrades fit for a queen. Dubbed the “Royal Astra”, the compact car has been graced with personalized touches including a retractable red carpet, windshield wiping hand, Union Jack cushions, and of course, a corgi booster seat, the queen’s canine companion of choice.

Her Majesty has been a Vauxhall owner for 50 years, all wearing a bespoke Balmoral Green hue. This Astra will wear a more pedestrian red, but the features have been tailored to royal expectations.

You could say this Astra is a bit Astra-cratic.
