If it hasn’t become clear yet, Chevrolet’s strategy surrounding its pickup trucks is a crafty one. The brand continues to segment the pickup market with special edition trucks to cater to specific audiences. And, with each introduction, the special editions are selling, and selling well.
Yesterday, Chevrolet invaded the Texas Motor Speedway to introduced the latest special edition, the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado Rally Edition.
“We introduced several special editions in 2015 – each combining equipment and appearance packages designed for specific enthusiasts in mind,” said Sandor Piszar, Chevrolet truck marketing director. They clearly resonated with buyers, selling in one-third the time – and attracting new, younger, and more affluent buyers to the brand – than the industry average.
“They also helped make Chevrolet the fastest-growing truck brand in the industry,” Piszar continued. “In 2015, total Chevrolet truck sales increased 27 percent – double the increase for the total truck market. As we expand our lineup of special editions for 2016, we expect to continue that momentum.”
The 2016 Silverado Rally Edition takes some of the most recent trends in street-performance trucks, and offers them straight from the factory. Signifiers include a monochromatic exterior with black accents, bold hood and body-side stripes, and black wheels in 20- or 22-inch sizes.
Coordinating with the introduction of the Silverado Rally Edition, Chevrolet has teamed up with racing drivers Dale Earnhardt Jr., Austin Dillion and Kyle Larson during a takeover of the Texas Motor Speedway. Each driver has been paired with a Silverado special edition, with Earnhardt Jr. taking the Rally Edition, Dillion with the Realtree Edition and Larson with the Midnight Edition.

If you do your home work they offer a 420HP 6.2 with the 8sp
Not in anything less than LTZ trim. Which is a damn shame.
