What could be better for the human race as of 2016? Where words take too long to spit out, we can use cutesy pictures of emotions to convey our feelings, also known as emojis. The 2016 Chevrolet Cruze took to the emoji fanfare for its launch with an official press release coded entirely in emojis, and the theme has continued on.
Chevrolet has applied its “Real People, Not Actors” advertising strategy to the 2016 Cruze, and here we have the first official spot for the compact car. It’s likely when the ad hits your local airwaves it will be chopped up into smaller spots, but above is the entire 2:07 spot for your enjoyment.
The brand said it would approach the 2016 Cruze spot with a focus on connectivity and present a more youthful approach. Again, moving back to the emojis, what better way to relate to the youngsters? The participants are asked to describe certain features and portions of the vehicle with only one emoji, and then asked to expand upon their choice.
The message resonates well, and we feel it accomplishes the approachability aspect Chevy is trying to build with the campaign.
